Centrally located, Oxfordshire has a wealth of modern and historical attributes. The county has major education and tourist industries and is noted for the concentration of performance motorsport companies and facilities.
Oxfordshire is a county full of history, from the ancient Rollright Stones or the Devil’s Quoits stone circles, the region is steeped in legend and mystery.

The county has a completely comprehensive education system with 23 independent schools and 35 state secondary schools. Only eight schools do not have a sixth form; these are mostly in South Oxfordshire and Cherwell districts.
Many state run primary schools are judged “good” by the government’s education watchdog Ofsted. “outstanding” schools include Windmill Primary School in Oxford, William Morris Primary, Banbury and Trinity CofE Primary, and Henley-upon-Thames.
State secondary schools in places like Witney have been hailed by education watchdog Ofsted as some of the best across Oxfordshire.
