Things to do in Chertsey
Making the most of your spare time is made that much simpler when you have access to such a wide variety of things to do and places to visit. In fact, its indoor and outdoor activities are some of the top reasons people flock here.
Chertsey certainly offers plenty of choices and here are a few ideas that might pique your interest:
Chertsey Meades is 175 acres of open space. Sitting on the banks of the river Thames, it is a wonderful area to wander or to take the children and the modern playground has picnic tables so you can spend the day here.
St Annes Hill is another popular local green space. The wooded landscape has a nature trail on an elevated site. Beautiful particularly in spring when the Bluebells bloom. There are also relics from the near and distant past dotted around the site that make this an amazing place to explore.
Head to Chertsey Museum for the low down on the town’s history. There’s a huge collection of artworks, photos, documents and a collection of clothing and textiles unique to the town, plus entry is free!!
Hobbledown Adventure Farm Park and Zoo are packed with family entertainment complete with animals, costumed characters, wooden play areas, a play barn, and a picnic area.
Thorpe Park is just two miles from Chertsey. The place to be for thrilling rides, attractions, and live events, and you can stay a few nights in the venue’s themed hotel. It is the ultimate destination for thrill seekers featuring some of the UK’s most popular roller coasters and amusement park rides.
Property prices
The wider county of surrey has always had the reputation of being rather well to do.
Generally, the cost of a home in the region tends to be on the expensive side and currently, homes cost an average of £474,731, much higher than the overall UK average.
