    Why Move to Bristol?

Buenos Aires, Paris, Bristol. Yes you are reading that correct. Bristol has recently joined the likes of these famous capital cities in an inclusion on a National Geographic list of the ‘Coolest Cities in 2018’.

Famous for the world-renowned Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol is fast getting a name for itself as a convincing living alternative to London.

Serving up a vibrant music and arts scene, accompanied by excellent eateries and a rich port history, Bristol surely has something for everyone.

It’s not just its thriving independent spirit that has seen a mass of new interest either.

The cost of living compared with other major cities in the UK is more favourable and its dockside regeneration has seen a wealth of new properties and business opportunities.

However, for those ready to splurge in search of a more laid-back lifestyle, Bristol offers the perfect blend of cosmopolitan city living, coupled with the allure of a countryside escape.

    Working in Bristol

Historically a port town, Bristol’s recent surge in wealth and prosperity has been a direct result of its many growth industries, such as defence and aeronautics.

Many people also find employment in the health and financial service sectors and the digital economy, which has unlocked a number of opportunities in science and research.

Salaries are not typically as high as other major cities in the UK, but this is offset somewhat by the lower cost of living and the growth in disposable income.

Bristol also has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the UK. However, it is becoming increasingly hard to find employment across the UK and so it would be advisable to find work before moving.

    Bristol Schools & Education

Families are drawn to Bristol due to its range of top rated state sector schools, including Westbury Park Primary School and Bishop Road Primary School, plus secondaries including Cotham School and Redland Green School.
