Poole tattoo artist wins award

Mim Hennessy-Mann, who works at Just Add Ink in Hamworthy, has won an award for the best large black and grey tattoo at the third Jurassic Coast Tattoo Convention held in Bournemouth at the weekend.

The award winning tattoo showed battle scenes from the Second World War, along with the faces of RAF Air Chief Marshal Hugh Dowding, RAF fighter pilot Douglas Bader, German Waffen-SS tank commander Michael Wittmann and German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.

The tattoo took an incredible 42 hours to complete over a period of six months.

The work of art was inked across the back of Jason Roff, a WW2 enthusiast.  Mim Hennessy-Mann said:  “It was his first ever tattoo. There was a huge amount of trust on his part and the back is the biggest canvas he could give me.

I felt very honoured he came to me,”
