    Why Move to Bingley?

Bingley is being billed as the new alternative to Yorkshire’s traditional ‘golden triangle’ a geographic section of prosperity between Leeds, Harrogate and York.
Surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, with the moors not too far away, Bingley is a charming and ideally situated market town in the Aire Valley which connects Merseyside with Yorkshire via the Leeds-Liverpool canal:

Bingley appears in a list of Britain’s top ten commuter hotspots — the larger city of Bradford can be reached in just 14 minutes and Leeds in 18. Leeds Bradford International Airport is located 10 miles from the city centre.

The wild beauty of the Bronte Country is on Bingley’s doorstep which can be taken in on an iconic steam train journey through the heart of the west Pennines.

The town centre is a bustling hub of activity with plenty to see and do, including some historic inns, cafes and specialist artisan shops.

The Bingley Arts Centre houses the Bingley Little Theatre which regularly host amateur dramatics as well as Gilbert and Sullivan and other musical events.
Bingley’s house prices may be rising but are still well below other fashionable areas such as Ilkley and Harrogate.

    Schools & Education

Bingley is very well-established community and is home to some of the county’s best state schools.

Altogether, there are eight primary schools serving Bingley and three secondaries: Beckfoot and Hazelbeck School, Samuel Lister Academy and Bingley Grammar School.

Bingley Grammar School was founded in the 16th century and is one of the oldest schools in the country.

It was re-inspected in 2013 by Ofsted which found “The leadership team had maintained the good quality of education in the school since its last inspection”.

    Things to Do in Bingley

Bingley is a popular lily pad for those looking to venture out into the vast Yorkshire Moors for some serious hiking or even just a leisurely stroll.

The Moors are intersected by several deep dales with a mix of cultivated land and woodland. They contain one of the largest expanses of heather moorland in the UK, covering an expanse of 554 square miles.

In Bingley itself take a ride on one of the canal boats and stop off at some of the town’s best watering holes along the way.

Or if you prefer you can get away from the town and wander through the tranquil woodlands and river walks of the St Ives estate.

Each year Bingley Show is held in Myrtle Park and is one of the largest one day shows in Europe.

The show focuses on the horticultural and agricultural nature of Bingley and presents the very best in fairground entertainment, delectable local produce and craft beer.
