    European Removals Options

Household belongings heading to continental Europe are shipped via road freight, with flexible options available to suit every budget. Depending on your exact needs, you can transfer your items either via a part-load or full-load container.

    Part Load

If you’re not planning to ship an entire house full of belongings, our ‘Part Load’ option is the ideal choice for you. Your goods will be transported to the same destination as other customers via a shared high-capacity truck, so you will only have to pay for the space required.

Part loads are ideal for customers looking for a cost-effective solution to moving goods to Europe who do not mind waiting a little longer to receive their consignment.

    Full Load

If you plan to transfer the entire contents of your home, we recommend you book a ‘Full Load’ removals service. This option offers far greater flexibility as you’ll have an entire trailer exclusively for your own personal use.

Our fully trained European removals team will safely pack your items into one of our specialist vehicles to our UK depot.

They will then head off to the port to be either loaded onto a shipping container or transferred via road depending on where you are moving to in Europe. The full-load service is more expensive than our part-load alternative, but transfer and delivery times are typically much faster.

    Taking Your Pets Abroad

Taking your pets across to Europe can seem like a daunting task, and what you need to do greatly depends on your country of destination.

When travelling to an EU country, you’ll need to go through a travellers’ point of entry. Your pets will require a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination, and tapeworm treatment (for dogs) and in some countries, an animal health certificate or a valid pet passport. These rules also apply to assistance dogs.

Since leaving the EU, the Pet Passport Scheme is no longer widely accepted in many EU and non-EU countries, so please check the UK government website on the latest rules on transporting pets abroad before departure.

    Frequently Asked Questions

The cheapest way to move your belongings to Europe is with our part-load service.

Choosing a part-load move allows us to reduce costs by combining your belongings with other customers’ items in a shared truck.

Part-loads are perfect for people moving to Europe with fewer items.

Customers using the part-load service will only be charged for the space used by their belongings in the truck.

Keep in mind that it may take a little longer for your belongings to arrive in Europe.

Moving to another country in Europe isn’t a straightforward process. It requires thorough research into visa requirements before setting off on your journey. Numerous countries permit visitors to stay for a maximum of three months without a visa. If your relocation is work-related, your employer should assist you in securing a work permit visa prior to your move.

Downsizing before moving to Europe requires plenty of planning well in advance.

You should consider what items you take by compiling a detailed list of essentials and those that aren’t.

When decluttering, consider what items you may wish to donate to charities and shelters.

If some items are valuable, list them for sale on marketplaces like eBay, GumTree, Shpock or Vinted.

Reduce paperwork as much as possible by digitising your documents, and avoid making any unnecessary purchases. Where possible, up-cycle or repurpose items you have no need for.

Portugal stands out as one of the most accessible European countries for obtaining a residence permit. Various options are available, including the D7 visa for financially independent individuals, the StartUp visa, a visa tailored for retirees, and the Golden Visa designed for investors.

The UK no longer holds special status within EU countries, having been redefined as a “third country” since Brexit. While staying in one or more EU member states for up to 90 days within a 180-day period remains relatively uncomplicated, those intending to relocate to Europe must now obtain a visa.

It’s advisable to inform your bank about your relocation. Failing to do so may result in restrictions on services such as online banking once you moved abroad. Additionally, there’s a possibility that your bank might freeze or close your account. Avoid the risk of losing access to your funds by keeping your bank informed of your intension to move.
