    Farnham has plenty to offer in terms culture too. Art lovers will enjoy The Sculpture Park which is open every day and is host to over 600 sculptures from more than 300 different artists.

    Packed full of history, Cistercian Waverley Abbey, just outside the town is an interesting place to visit. Surrounded by current and previous channels of the River Wey, it was damaged on more than one occasion by severe flooding, resulting in rebuilding in the 13th century.

    Farnham Castle is a 12th century castle which was formerly the residence of the Bishops of Winchester. Well worth a visit, there is also an exhibition on site open to the public covering the 900 Years of Living History of Farnham Castle.

    Birdworld is the United Kingdom’s largest bird park, covering 26 acres. It is just 4 miles from the town. You can see the parks more than 180 different species of bird, 11 of which are endangered. Home to the largest free flying parrot aviaries in the country. It also Features an Underwater World aquarium where you can meet piranhas, turtles, and miniature crocodiles.

    There are numerous open spaces to visit including Frensham Ponds, Alice Holt, Caesar’s Camp, Farnham Park and Bourne Woods, all perfect for dog walkers, cyclists, families, and those who enjoy an active lifestyle.
