Newbury Show 2025 — A Roaring Return of Tradition & Community

Over the weekend of 20th & 21st September 2025, the Newbury Show once again transformed Newbury Showground into a vibrant celebration of rural life.
Over the past two years, the Show has welcomed an average of 30,000 visitors!
The two-day event, organised by the Newbury & District Agricultural Society, drew farmers, families, enthusiasts, and visitors from across the region for a spectacular showcase of tradition, entertainment, and local enterprise.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s finest county shows, stays true to its roots, remaining a full celebration of farming and rural life, from cutting-edge agricultural technology and machinery to traditional livestock competitions, artisan crafts, and delicious local produce.
At its heart, the Society continues its educational mission, sharing the very best of British countryside life with the wider public.
While the Show operates on a grand scale, its true charm lies in combining heritage, community, and modern appeal.
What Made the Show Shine

Livestock, equine displays, trade stands, and interactive exhibits filled Newbury Showground, celebrating the very best of British rural life.
The crowds flooded in, and from early morning until dusk, the showground was buzzing:
- Livestock and agricultural displays were a major draw, with exhibitors bringing top-tier cattle, sheep, poultry and more, competing for top honours.
- Equine events and farrier demonstrations added flair and expertise. The sight of skilled blacksmiths at the forge or horses being shod always captures attention.
- Trade stands and stalls lined the grounds, offering everything from local food and drink, honey, and preserves, to crafts, homeware, clothing, and farm equipment.
- Bees & honey, an increasingly popular niche, featured as a specific segment highlighting interest in sustainability, pollinators, and local produce.
- Interactive, educational exhibits and agricultural society programs gave visitors a chance to learn more about farming, land use, conservation, and rural life.
The layout and organisation allowed visitors to flow comfortably between zones, with food areas, refreshment stalls, and places to rest helping make what could have been a long day into a pleasant experience.
Heritage Touch: White & Company’s Vintage Presence

White & Company’s restored 19th-century horse-drawn removals cart drew attention, connecting visitors with Hampshire’s moving heritage.
White & Company Removals & Storage, one of the UK’s oldest and most trusted moving companies, proudly took part in the Show.
Established in 1871, White & Company has been providing house removals in Hampshire and beyond for well over 150 years.
Our team exhibited a real piece of working history, a beautifully restored vintage horse-drawn removal cart.
This striking vehicle, a true piece of history, dating back to the company’s early years in the late 19th century, was a reminder of how life, and house moving, once looked in Hampshire.
The cart caught the eye of many showgoers, sparking conversations about local heritage and the importance of preserving links to the past.
Rather than being a sales pitch, the display fitted perfectly with the day’s theme of tradition and continuity.
Just as the Show reflects rural life through the generations, the cart told its own story of how industries adapt yet remain rooted in their origins.
We were proud to be part of the heritage tapestry, and many attendees paused to ask questions and enjoy the connection to local history.
The Bigger Picture: Why Newbury Show Matters

From farmers and families to local traders, the Newbury Show united generations in a joyful celebration of community and craftsmanship.
The success of the Newbury Show lies in its ability to appeal across generations.
For farmers, it’s a day to compare breed lines, show off prized livestock, and exchange ideas.
For families and visitors, it’s a wholesome day out, with fresh air, animals, food, crafts, and fairground entertainment.
For local businesses and artisans, it’s a platform to showcase their work and connect with a receptive audience.
The fact that the Show spans two days is itself a sign of growth and ambition. It gives more time for visitors to explore, for vendors to engage, and for the overall experience to deepen.
The audience came in large numbers, and the atmosphere was joyous, friendly, and filled with camaraderie.
Looking Forward

As the 2025 Show closed, its success reaffirmed the enduring spirit of rural tradition — and excitement for an even bigger event next year.
As the 2025 Show wrapped up and visitors headed home, there was a sense not just of satisfaction but of momentum.
The Newbury Show continues to grow, evolve, and remain relevant, even as it honours time-honoured rural traditions.
We at White & Company are delighted we could take part, not as the main act, but as part of the tapestry of community and heritage.
We hope that our vintage cart added a little curiosity, sparked stories, and reminded people how industries and lives evolve.
Here’s to next year’s Show: may the fields be full, the crowds merry, and the spirit of rural celebration ever strong!
