Removals Ibiza: An overview
Ibiza is located in the Mediterranean Sea off the east coast of Spain, and forms part of the Balearic Islands. It is a renowned holiday destination however, there is a large number of Britons living on the island. Because it is just a short 2-hour flight from the UK, with direct flights from some airports, it is easy to get on and off the island, even during winter.
It is said that the island enjoys 300 days of sunshine! Winter temperatures do not often drop below 10 degrees. The way of life is different in Ibiza and it takes time to customise to the change. It has a lazy laid-back vibe and in the very busy summer months it is packed with holiday makers from all over the globe. The Shops close in the afternoons for around 2 hours for “Siesta” time. Everyone stays up much later than in the UK and it is not uncommon to see families with young children out in the summer evenings until way after 9pm. The locals are extremely friendly and embrace expats wholeheartedly.
One word of advice though, learn to speak Spanish! It will help you socially and assist in gaining employment.

Working in Ibiza
More and more people from the UK who are lucky enough to be able to work remotely via the internet, have made Ibiza home. The Times Online recently coined the phrase, “The LonZa” (London-Ibiza). Internet access is easy and there are free Wifi spots in most towns and villages across the island.
One important note: Anyone who is not a Spanish citizen wishing to be economically, socially or professionally associated to Spain will need to apply for an identification number: Número de Identificación de Extranjero, aka the NIE number. The number is essential if you intend to buy a property or a motor car.
Property prices & Removals Ibiza
Ibiza’s property prices are the most buoyant in Spain and of the other Balearic Islands. Figures published recently by the estate agent Engel & Volkers show that prime seafront properties are selling strongest, registering a 10 per cent increase since January 2010, and that Britons account for 40 per cent of buyers.
Purchasing property in the busy towns such as San Antonio is best avoided unless you enjoy the mass-market crowd. There are some beautiful properties elsewhere such as modern villas, rural fincas (typical farmhouses) and waterfront apartments. You can expect to pay around £191,700 for a basic holiday apartment and from £305,000 for a modern, two-bedroom apartment in Ibiza Town. Outside of the larger towns there are some fantastic bargains to be found.

Education & Removals Ibiza
Considering its size, there are plenty of good schools on Ibiza. Not only does it boast great public school options, but also some exceptional private schools, which you may wish to consider if your children do not speak Spanish.
Public school places are normally allocated geographically. Your child attends the school closest to your home, however, you can apply to schools outside the area.
Private schools tend to follow the UK National Curriculum up to A levels from nursery and reception years and teach in both Spanish and English. Below is a list of schools across the island:
