Rochford town, situated to the north of Southend-on-Sea, has a chequered but exciting past. This medieval market town has seen many fascinating people and events throughout its history, from royal visits to the founding of a religious sect.

Rochford also includes the privately-owned Grade I Rochford Hall. A manor house where King Henry VIII first cast his eyes on a young Anne Boleyn. Owned by the Boleyns from 1515 It is now privately owned by Rochford Hundred Golf Club where it acts as the clubhouse.
Rochford reservoir and park are popular with local anglers, bird watchers and nature lovers. This reservoir is easily accessible by public transport, car, and on foot.
The lake is sited on the outskirts of Rochford square (the main shopping street). It’s a peaceful, scenic, and pleasant place to go, for either a walk, to sit in, or to draw/paint, or take photographs. With plenty of waterfowl to feed, the children love it too.
