Leisure & House Removals Whitchurch

Located at 28 Winchester Street in Whitchurch is the tourist attraction of Whitchurch Silk Mill. It is the oldest silk mill in the UK still in its original building, it is a Georgian water mill that weaves silk using 19th century machinery. There is so much to learn here about how the Victorians produced the silk which was used so much during the Victorian Era. You can see the original mill wheel and Victorian machinery and see the beautiful fabrics on the looms.

There is a shop selling a range of silk products such as ladies’ and men’s silk scarves, men’s silk ties, silk-covered hangers and cushions and much more. The lovely little tea room is an ideal place to stop and rest and take in the views over the river Test and the mill. A great way to spend a couple of hours.
