Governor of Guernsey choses White and Company for move

22 March 2011

Sir Fabian Malbon KBE  has been Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey since 2005. On completing his term of office this year, he moved to Weybridge, and White and Company was chosen to move him.

Sir Fabian had a long and distinguished career in the Royal Navy, seeing action in the Bosnian War as Commanding Officer of HMS Invincible. He went on to become Naval Secretary and then Deputy Commander-in-Chief Fleet before retiring in 2002.

The Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey is the representative of the British monarch in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a Crown dependency of the British Crown. The role of the Lieutenant Governor is to act as the de facto head of state in Guernsey and as liaison between the governments of Guernsey and the United Kingdom.

Steve Hammer, manager of White and Company's Guernsey office, tells us that Sir Fabian phoned him personally to say how pleased he was with the move.
