    3 Packing

    Having been specialists in removals for so long, we can assure you that there is nothing we have not moved before.

    You can rest assured that your personal belongings will be well protected and safe throughout the transportation process.

    When you choose the option of a full packing service, everything will be wrapped, packed and listed on a detailed inventory before being loaded onto the vehicle.

    A copy of the inventory will follow shortly after.

    Historically part of Lancashire, now the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester, Bury emerged in the Industrial Revolution as a mill town manufacturing textiles. Between 1801 and 1830, the town’s population more than doubled from 7,072 to 15,086. This was the time when the factories, mines and foundries, with their spinning machines and steam engines, began to dominate the landscape.

    Sitting nicely on the banks of the River Irwell, the town continues to grow and prosper to this day, and Bury’s ‘World Famous’ Market draws people in from the all over the country. Its quirky streets and location give residents all the perks of city living while being on the border of open countryside.

    Strategically placed on the motorway network within a short hop to Manchester City, Leeds, Bolton and Rochdale as well as having the Metro link into Manchester city centre always proves a huge draw to the town.

    Things to do in Bury

    The borough of Bury has a great combination of award-winning attractions, excellent food and drink and a good assortment of shopping opportunities.

    For shopping try Bury Market, with over 350 stalls it’s buzzing with atmosphere, packed with bargains and has some of the best local produce around, including of course the famous Bury Black Pudding.

    The Met Arts Centre is based in the centre of Bury in the Derby Hall; it’s a small performing arts venue hosting some great events.

    Annual Music festivals include the ‘Glaston-Bury’ festival on the August bank holiday weekend, and the Ramsbottom Music Festival each September.

    A steam train still runs from Bury daily and the award-winning Transport Museum with its impressive collection of vintage vehicles is a great day out.

    Bury also houses the Fusilier Museum commemorating over 300 years of the regiment’s history.

    Bury Art Museum on Moss Street, home to an excellent collection of Victorian and 20th-century art, including works by Turner, Constable, and Landseer.

    Burrs Country Park is a popular recreation area for all the family, and they’re several great walks across the beautiful Pennines.

    Surrounding the town is also stunning countryside with plenty of walks to enjoy in the Peak District, Saddleworth Moor or the woods and forests in Cheshire.

    Further education is catered for my two colleges; Bury College which provides qualifications for school leavers pursuing A Levels, vocational qualifications and apprenticeships. It also offers a range of courses for adults, including university qualifications run in partnership with the University of Bolton.

    Holy Cross Sixth Form College regularly ranks as one of the top ten sixth forms in the country. It specialises in A-Levels and BTEC qualifications, as well as a limited selection of Undergraduate degrees.

    Private education in the region is provided for by two schools Bury Catholic Preparatory School and Bury Prestwich Preparatory School.
