Sadly, much of Fulham’s past was destroyed in the notorious London Bombings during WW2. But one of the most notable historic sites is Fulham Palace, the ministerial retreat of the Bishops of London. Its medieval and Tudor features, kitchen garden and part-excavated longest moat in England is a popular tourist attraction.
The renowned Fulham Football Club was founded in this area in 1879. This makes it the oldest professional football team in London.
