    State schools for secondary aged children (11-18 years) which are sought after include St Damian’s RC Science College, “outstanding” says Ofsted and West Hill School rated as “good”.

    Post 16 education is well provided for too. There are two sixth forms available, Ashton Sixth Form College and Clarendon Sixth Form College both located in Ashton-under-Lyne.

    Tameside College of FE also in Ashton-under-Lyne, offers a range of courses for students from Tameside and the surrounding area. These courses include NVQs, BTECs, Apprenticeships, Access courses the college also runs adult learning in the evenings.
