    Things to do in Camberley

    You will find plenty of attractions and places to visit in the Camberley area:

    Hawley Lake Sail Training Centre, a few minutes’ drive away boasts courses for both adults and children. There are two golf courses within three miles and cricket, football, tennis and rugby union clubs in Farnborough and Camberley.

    Chobham Common, on the northern edge of the village is a popular weekend spot. It is one of the largest areas of heathland in Surrey, providing some lovely walks and stunning scenery.

    Frimley Lodge Park is another very popular open-air visitor attraction. It is a 24-hectare site that enjoys a range of facilities for all ages. These include plenty of open space and woodland, picnic areas, two children’s playgrounds, a trim trail, miniature railway and meadows!

    Like many other Victorian towns, Camberley’s housing started to be built from near the town’s train station. Evidence of this still remains, with late Victorian properties situated in Upper Gordon Road, Middle Gordon Road and Portesbery Road.

     

     

    Subsequent building from the town centre has seen larger, detached houses being built in established heathland plots on roads leading off of Park Road. This history of the town certainly gives it a unique feel!
