    Why Move to Grantham

    A market town of some note based in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire this unique market town is arguably known as” the gateway to Lincolnshire”. Grantham’s most famous daughter, Margaret Thatcher was born in the town and Sir Isaac Newton attended the local 15th Century Kings School.

    Once an important staging post between the cities of London and Lincoln, the town’s ancient coaching inns have played an important role in its history. The Angel and Royal, one of the oldest in the country, was established in by the Knights Templar. In later history, the town was known for its production of heavy machinery and the first Diesel engine was created here as well as some of the earliest farm tractors.

    The town centre is both functional and a place where locals can meet and socialise.
    The main high street is lined with an eclectic mix of shops, whilst the undercover Isaac Newton Shopping Centre forms the prime shopping area home to stores such as Morrisons supermarket, Peacocks and Superdrug.

    With a population of around 40,000, Grantham’s location makes it within close reach of Nottingham, Newark, Leicester, Peterborough, Boston alongside a very efficient one-hour train journey into London making it prime commuter territory.

    As befits a market town, Grantham has a Saturday street market as well as a Farmers’ Market, held on the second Saturday of the month, selling a range of local and countywide produce. There is plenty to keep everyone fulfilled when it comes to recreational activities. The town has a number of splendid parks and open spaces. In particular, Wyndham Park to the east of the town, through which the River Witham flows.
