    Colloquially known locally as Kingston, this southwest London town is located within the oldest Royal Borough in Greater London, notable for being the ancient market town in which Saxon kings were crowned.

    State Ofsted rated “outstanding” primary schools in the town include St Luke’s C of E Primary School, Fern Hill Primary School and Hampton Wick Infant and Nursery School with the majority of remaining primaries having been rated as “good”.

    11-19 Age Range

    The Kingston Academy for 11-19 years is a co-ed secondary, located in North Kingston not far from the River Thames. The school was set up by the Kingston Educational Trust, a partnership between Kingston University, Kingston College and Royal Borough of Kingston. It received “outstanding” inspection results across the board.

    Children can progress to Kingston College. A large FE institution operating four colleges in south-west London collectively known as the South Thames College Group (STCG) who’s members are South Thames College, Kingston College, Merton College, and Carshalton College. As of 2020, STCG has over 5,300 students each on study and adult programmes.

    Kingston University London is a public research university, its roots go back to the Kingston Technical Institute, founded in 1899. A well organised university, it has four campuses situated in Kingston. The university specialises in the arts, design, fashion, science, engineering, and business.

    Things to do in Kingston upon Thames

    Kingston has it all for a fun day out with the whole family and the choices are endless. The area has so many parks and green spaces as well as the River Thames, you can enjoy a whole day of fun without hardly spending a penny.

    Once of the closest and among the most famous green areas close by is Bushy Park offering the ideal day out for nature lovers.
