    Bonus Pastor Catholic College is a mainstream, state funded junior and senior school for mixed in nearby Bromley, which was awarded a grade of “outstanding” by Ofsted. Whilst Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy was deemed to be “good” by Ofsted.

    The three top-performing local private schools are Blackheath High (girls, ages three to 18), Colfe’s School (co-ed, ages three to 18) and St Dunstan’s College in Catford.
    Lewisham is also home to Goldsmiths, University of London and the Laban Dance College (part of Trinity College of Music).

    Things to do in Lewisham

    Finding some open spaces to unwind and relax is no problem, Lewisham has several.
    Hilly Fields park in Brockley has a strong community vibe and hosts an annual fair in June.

    Blackheath is nearby and is a great place to explore by walking, cycling or for picnics in the summer.

    Waterlink Way is a long-distance cycle path and walking route in South East London. It extends from South Norwood Country Park (near Elmers End station) to the Cutty Sark ship in Greenwich, a total of eight miles and connects to several parks and green spaces along the way.

    Manor House Gardens located in nearby Lee has a lake and fountain, as well as a walled flower garden, tennis courts a children’s playground and a café, a good place to take the family.

    Lewisham Art House is located in a beautiful neoclassical building. Once used for illegal raves it is now run by a group of local designers and crafts people. It’s a vibrant creative hub which runs workshops, exhibitions and an eclectic mix of visual art and experimental music.

    Housing in the area is predominantly late Victorian, with the addition of 1930s houses and new modern apartments, including the highly regarded Renaissance Development and Meridian South.

     

    Lewisham’s conservation areas are very popular, and it is here that you will find Victorian and Edwardian homes.

     

    In the neighbourhood of St Johns is a range of small two-bedroom artisan houses and in the Lee Manor conservation area are wonderful examples of French baroque-style houses and very much in high demand.
