One of the top visitor attractions in Scotland, history buffs will want to visit the Scone Palace near Perth. It is the original home of the Stone of Destiny and the site of the coronations of the Kings of Scots.
The stunning parklands of Scone Palace are also home to Perth Racecourse. Scotland’s most northerly horse- racing track is located just 3 miles out of town. A favourite day out, open 365 days a year it plays host to over 120 events and is home to one of the best conferencing facilities in Perthshire.
Lochleven Castle located on a small island, was where Mary Queen of Scots was once a guest but her former host turned her jailer in 1567. She eventually escaped, never to see Scotland again. The tower house where Mary was held is one of Scotland’s oldest, built in the 1300s.
It is an incredibly interesting place to visit and discover more. It also has some lovely walks where you can roam the quiet island at your leisure and soak up the peaceful setting.
