Things to do in Selby

Explore the imposing medieval Selby Abbey. You will discover a crumbling 15th-century gatehouse and then settle down for a memorable meal in one of the town’s many fine restaurants.
Take the family to Barlow Common Nature Reserve. Once common land used by local parishioners for turning out cattle, pigs, and sheep to graze, it is now a beautiful place to visit any time of the year.
There are acres of land to explore, and the reserve is home to small mammals such as wood mice, weasels, and stoats. Occasionally, fox and roe deer from neighbouring woodland can be seen.
