After falling under English rule in the 16th century, Glamorgan’s natural resources became an important part of the Industrial Revolution. Glamorgan was the most populous and industrialised county in Wales and was once called the “crucible of the Industrial Revolution”, as it held the world centres of three metallurgical industries and its rich resources of coal.
Nowadays, finding a decent job is particularly challenging throughout Wales. Compared to more prosperous areas of England, Wales has, unfortunately, struggled with its economy.
This is partly due to the small size of towns and cities in Wales compared to regions within the UK and the demise of the coal industry. However, there is work to be found if you have the skills and experience in the region’s main sectors.
